On Double Five day of the Earth Rat year, the author received the Daoist name Single Cloud and began a three-year investiture leading to his priestly ordination into an orthodox Daoist family lineage. Single Cloud continued this journey with his teacher into the subtle mysteries, while he and his wife raised their three children in a coastal Northern California town.
