Our mission is to recover, restore, and share sounds that have been lost to time—whether due to extinction, technological obsolescence, or cultural shifts. From the calls of extinct animals to the hum of bygone machinery, every sound tells a story. By preserving these auditory artifacts, we aim to deepen our understanding of the past, inspire creativity in the present, and ensure these sounds are not forgotten for future generations.
The museum was founded in 2023 by a team of sound historians, technologists, and artists who recognized the urgency of capturing and preserving these vanishing sounds. Using advanced audio restoration techniques, historical research, and partnerships with cultural institutions around the world, we have brought back to life sounds that were thought to be permanently silenced.
